Cittaslow Cowichan is hosting its “Colours & Flavours of Summer Community Potluck” on September 8th 2024, from 4:30 – 7:00 pm – an outdoor celebration gathering local community together to share locally grown and lovingly prepared food on the beautiful grounds of Cherry Point Estate Wines in Cowichan Bay. Bring a local food dish to share, your picnic basket with plates, cutlery, cloth napkins and wine glasses for your group and folding chairs, as our aim is to have this be a Zero Waste event. We’ll have tables and tablecloths ready, and mellow music ready for a lovely late afternoon and evening.
You may remember our White Dinners from previous years. “Colours & Flavours of Summer” is still an invitation to dress up (in the rainbow of summer colours), prepare and share locally grown food, and connect with each other across the diversity of our community, as we enjoy and celebrate our local seasonal foods. (..and “White” is still a colour, if that’s your favorite way to dress up). Stay tuned for more details.
As we continue to be inspired to reengage with our amazing community, and once again celebrate the values described in our Cittaslow Charter after stepping back a bit during the height of COVID, this will be the first of many great ways to come together in our community in positive ways – to connect and celebrate who we are and what we can achieve together to make a positive difference – by starting this “Summer Community Potluck” as we consider other projects, events and ways to connect as a welcoming community into the future.
